In an email conversation on April 28th, Lloyd Fournier questioned the need to bump the generation until a funding transaction is confirmed. He initially couldn't think of a reason why someone would want to open two channels to the same node simultaneously instead of putting all their funds into one funding. However, he later thought of a few reasons and retracted his initial point.
