A member of the Bitcoin community, Geir Harald Hansen, raised concerns about duplicated strings in the old Wx UI and provided three examples to illustrate his point. John Smith offered to investigate the issue and Christian Decker suggested that duplicate strings could be necessary for translation purposes depending on context. The conversation also touched on the use of Transifex for translations and coordinating translation efforts. In response to the concerns raised, a Bitcoin developer ran the string extraction script again to remove any duplicated messages that may have been caused by the old Wx UI strings in bitcoinstrings.cpp.
