On October 22, 2011, Nils Schneider requested a volunteer to coordinate translation efforts for Bitcoin. He suggested using Transifex and creating documentation to make it easier for people to create and submit new translations. In response, Geir Harald Hansen offered to translate the project into Norwegian Bokmål and requested that the language code "nb" be added to the project. Schneider had already exported all .ts files to Transifex, and provided a link to the project page.
