In this email conversation, Jeff Johnson via bitcoin-dev sends a message with information regarding a raw block. The raw block is 998,198 bytes and when compressed using Gzip, it becomes 521,212 bytes with a 52% ratio. However, the recipient of the message, whose name is not provided, responds saying that the raw block seems odd as every odd byte is 0, which explains the high compression ratio. It is unclear how the sender obtained the raw block.
