Making AsicBoost irrelevant

Summary:

The HK agreement proposed a hard-fork to render the patented AsicBoost optimization useless, as well as any similar optimizations that may arise. The objective is to find the best way to achieve this goal, ideally in a manner compatible with SPV. Changes from SPV clients are acceptable if required, but the fix should be compatible with existing mining hardware. Relevant sources for the proposal include the Bitcoin Roundtable Consensus and a discussion on the Bitcoin developers' mailing list. Peter Todd, a notable Bitcoin developer, can also be contacted for more information.
