In an email exchange on May 6, 2014, Pieter pointed out a bug in the system. Although the value was not exactly 25%, he urged the recipient to continue tinkering with it. The bug involved values 2 and 3, which should only occur once in 2**127, when the signature value is between the group size and field size. Despite the theoretical nature of these values, they still represented a bug in the system.
