In May 2012, Michael Grønager discussed the format of sla.php page. He suggested that it should be a json-rpc call which would return a json object containing SLA version, acceptance of fee-less transactions, minimum fee and extra fee per KB for larger transactions. He also proposed that miners could work out a more suitable set of fees but emphasized not to use JSON or hard-coded logic. Instead, he suggested using Bitcoin's secure scripting system and fetching a script from URI with an initial stack format.
