Many people are reluctant to join the full node club due to the amount of storage that Bitcoin consumes. Standard consumer usage on a home computer often leaves less than 200 GB of free space, and Bitcoin alone takes up more than half of that. This can feel very expensive for those with only a single 512GB SSD. Some may even be motivated to buy another drive.
