Pieter Wuille discusses the need for a lookup table from prevouts to TXO tree positions in order to support proofs of non-spend. This table can be maintained by wallets or service providers, rather than every full node and miner individually for everyone's coins. However, this solution may not work if one wants to support proofs of non-spend, which is the main goal of this exercise.
