The release notes for the 0.10.2 version of Bitcoin indicate that there were only notable changes for Windows, and it is not clear whether there were any vulnerability patches in this version that apply to Ubuntu. In a message to the bitcoin-dev mailing list, Thomas Pryds asks when or if 0.10.2 will be available on the Ubuntu PPA, expressing a preference for the convenience of using a PPA rather than installing manually. Gregory Maxwell strongly recommends upgrading to 0.10.2 for production nodes exposed to inbound connections from the internet.
