On June 22, 2015, Nathan Wilcox sent an email to the bitcoin-dev mailing list with a simple greeting of "hello world". His email signature contained his contact information including his email and Twitter handle. The email also included his PGP key. Another member of the mailing list, Richard Winder, had sent an email prior to Nathan's, which simply stated "awaiting transmission transmission". No other context was provided in either email.
