Tom Harding, a bitcoin developer, posted a rule on the bitcoin-dev forum stating that transactions and their dependents would be evicted on their 2-hour anniversary, regardless of whether space is needed or not. Thomas Zander responded with a question as to why a number of blocks couldn't be used instead of a time limit.
