Based on a conversation thread between Alex Morcos and an unknown person, there seems to be some discussion regarding the merging of CPFP. The main issue with merging it right now is that its current implementation may not be efficient enough in certain situations, leading to high CPU usage. However, if CPFP can provide a good solution rather than the best solution, it could still be worth having.
