The email thread between Randolph D. and an unknown recipient discusses a secure peer-to-peer email system that doesn't rely on a central server. The system is called Key/Repleo-Exchange and uses the Echo Protocol to create a fully decentralized email network. It also has built-in chat and instant messaging features, with strong end-to-end multi-encryption using PGP/AES over SSL via libgcrypt. The system includes Libspoton integration and an additional security layer with the GB-Feature for emails. It also prevents data retention and does not use a web of trust. The software is open source under the BSD license and Randolph is looking for someone with a server to help implement it.However, there have been multiple posts by apparent sock accounts about a similar software called "GoldBug." These posts have appeared on various forums, including the Tor Project and GnuPG mailing lists. The similarity in names and timing of the posts raise concerns about the legitimacy of the GoldBug software.
