In an email dated January 31, 2012, Matt Corallo raised a concern about the use of additional variables prefixed with "mustimplement:" in a mission-critical way until a grace period has passed. He then proceeded to ask if the colon sign is allowed in URL parameter names unescaped or unencoded. If not, he suggested using an unrestricted character instead, such as an underscore.
