Summary:

In December 2013, Peter Todd expressed concern about Bitcoin node addresses being reliant on DNS seeds. In response to this issue, Warren sponsored BlueMatt to implement an address database for bitcoinj, which would reduce the reliance on DNS. According to Todd, bitcoinj clients heavily depended on DNS seeds and were susceptible to compromise.
