In December 2011, Amir Taaki suggested using a hierarchical method to map browser user agents in order to make it easier to scan all browsers using WebKit. He believes that developers want to follow standards but are held back by inflexibility or ambiguity. The proposed method allows every client to supply all the information they have without needing to decide what to leave out.
