Daniel Hoffman proposed a BIP idea for representing Bitcoin addresses over audio. The idea is to take the binary representation of the Bitcoin address, chop it up into 4 or 2 bit chunks and generate a tone based on that value. This can be used for donating to podcasts or other audio content using a Shazam-esque app or media player with this capability. Justin W. Newton, the Founder/CEO of Netki, Inc, responded to Daniel's proposal and suggested adding additional tones to denote an amount optionally in satoshis.
