Gavin Andresen, the Chief Scientist of Bitcoin Foundation, strongly opposes any proposal that would make the foundation a centralized authority controlling the misuse of financial powers of Bitcoin. He believes that central organizations cannot be trusted to keep secrets secure, as evidenced by past failures of government organizations and commercial organizations like Ashley Madison. Furthermore, decentralization is a bedrock principle of Bitcoin, making such proposals technically and ideologically unacceptable.
