In August 2015, Peter Todd via bitcoin-dev raised a question regarding the threat models of developers and what should be at the root of their thinking about the blocksize. He suggested that it would be valuable to ask devs to explain their threat models. The "Technical Opinion" column was identified as an avenue for this discussion.
