Jeffrey Hoffstein, one of the creators of NTRU and a former colleague of Peter at Brown University, informed Peter that NTRU is one of the few, if not the only, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-recommended quantum computing-resistant algorithms. Last year, Peter and Jeffrey discussed the possibility of layering NTRU onto Bitcoin from a cryptographic standpoint, which Peter believes can be relatively easy to achieve. However, there are still many other questions beyond cryptography that need to be addressed.
