In an email thread, Wladimir proposed that the date format YYYY-MM-DD is universally unambiguous across all cultures. He argued against Matt Whitlock's preference for DD-MM-YYYY and YYYY-DD-MM, calling them culturally biased. In response, Jorge Timón stated that he likes both DD-MM-YYYY and YYYY-MM-DD but dislikes MM-DD-YYYY and YYYY-DD-MM. Daryl Tucker also chimed in on the discussion. Wladimir shared a link to an XKCD comic and suggested ending the discussion. The email thread was part of the Bitcoin-development mailing list.
